Raise your hand: the education results are in, action planned for 2011

Thousands of students, parents, teachers and education specialists from over 90 countries voted in OECD’s Raise Your Hand project this fall. They submitted over 325 original ideas for action to take in education today and cast over 27 000 votes on those ideas in 30 days.

OECD shared the top 5 ideas with education ministers, global business leaders, technical experts and academics during the Education Policy Forum at the OECD in Paris on 4 November. “Teach to think, not to regurgitate” was the number one action according to participants. What else do ministers, business leaders, educators and students say are their top priorities for education today? What next? Action!
